EYES ON TECHNOLOGY

Record number of visitors to the Conference Internet site causes temporary traffic jam
The online news service of the 12th World AIDS Conference, aids98.ch was visited by so many people during the Opening Ceremony that the Conference  had to change service providers in order to provide access to the latest in news on HIV/AIDS.

The on-site Delegate email System became so popular that it had to be shut down to accomodate more than  12,000 Delegates using personal email accounts provided by the Conference. In the first day alone, over 29,000 messages were sent!
